Siren Logo design

This logo was designed for a friend's personal production company several months back. She wanted to go with something classy, but yet still have a simplistic cartoon/animated character feel about it.

I'm back

Hey folks,

So yeah, it's been a long time I've updated.  About 3 years technically.  See, my life got got super busy and chaotic the last couple of years.  Moving to a new home, and trying to make ends meet, and working as much as I can at my current job.  This isn't an excuse, but it is a large factor for my absence.

But if you've been keeping up with my WEBCOMIC, you know that I've still been keeping busy artistically.  I've also been doing a lot of freelance work.  So I've not given up on my craft.  Just been having to put focus elsewhere for the time being.

I'm going try to post updates in the near future, and I've been working to find other work that will allow me more time to do stuff creatively.

Checking-in

Hey everyone.  Yeah, I haven't posted on here in a while.  Things have continued to be super-crazy with my job(S).  Between my graphic design work at KSDG, my waiter job at Cheesecake Factory, my teaching job at the Ichen Art Academy, and my web-comic, I've not had much time to do other works.  I'm hoping that will change in the coming months, but no guarantees.

Well in the meanwhile, here is a penguin related-comic for LiC to show I'm still doing work.

Thanks all,
Alain

LOST IN CONFUSION HITS 100 COMICS!

I really should have posted this last week, but again, been really busy.

Anywhoo: GREAT NEWS!  My webcomic LOST IN CONFUSION just hit 100 strips last week!  That's right!  The big ONE-ZERO-ZERO!  Thanks to everyone who has been reading the comic, and for those who have been supportive during the last year!

Go on and check it out, and if you have time, check out the rest again!

Thanks everyone!

Pacific Physis LLP Website

Hey Gang,

So I know I haven't posted much over the last few weeks.  Been super busy with my three jobs, one of which has gone from intern to an actual job as a contract Graphic Designer for KSDG.  It's not yet a full time job that I can use to quit my other jobs, but its a start.

Meanwhile, I've finished another website for another one of my clients over at Pacific Physis LLP.  Go check out the work I did building it all by myself.  I'm so proud! :)

AMDIAZART.COM IS BACK!

Well it was quicker than I thought it would be, but I got A.M.DIAZART.com back up faster than I thought it would take! The biggest new feature for the site is the new gallery setting that allows for visitors to look through the site faster and easier than before. Yeah, I know it's hardly a huge deal, as most websites have this system already in place, but as I'm not primarily a website programmer, it took me a bit to figure out this system's coding.

Either way, I'm proud of myself!

Go check it out!
Thanks,
A

AMDIAZART.COM is Under Construction

Hey folks,

So a heads up: I'm updating AMDIAZART.COM slightly over the next few days. I've finally managed to sort out the coding for the site that will allow for me to be able to do proper galleries for the site. That'll help me save on data storage for the site, and also allow for the site to load faster on the server and properly other good stuff (I think at least).

So if you go over there, don't be surprised if sections are missing or down. They'll be up again soon.

AMDIAZART.COM IS UPDATED!

Hey Everyone, yeah, I know it's been a while since I've updated the sites (aside from Lost in Confusion). I've been working three jobs over the last few months (Graphic Design Intern, Art Teacher and Waiter), so while I've been getting a lot of work done, I've not had a lot of time to update things on the website. Crazy, huh?

Well, anyways, I've updated amdiazart.com finally, so I invited anyone who is interested in checking out my stuff to go over there and do so. I've got a lot of stuff posted, all of which was done during my time as a graphic design internt at Kevin Stephens Design Group. This included the website that I designed and have been helping maintain with the Web Programer Sail White.

Also to be noted, Lost in Confusion is still going strong, so I once again ask that people check it out. Please? It's got a penguin in it!

Thanks Everyone!

Twitter is up.

Okay, so now I've also created a Twitter for myself. This will keep people informed of stuff perhaps a bit faster than other things. I'm not sure how often I'll use it, because I'm terrible with this sort of thing, and I kinda find it a bit invasive, but, hey won't know if I don't like it, unless I try it.

My twitter is on the site of here for those who want to check it out.

Tumblr is up

On a new note: I've created a Tumblr for myself. I'm not entirely sure how often I'll use it or what for yet, but a lot of people have recommended it, so I thought, why not?

To visit it go to: http://amdiazart.tumblr.com/

Checking-In

Hey gang,

So I know it's been a while since I posted something on the old blog. Things have been kinda crazy lately. I've been working at my internship job at KSDG of course, which has been going fantastic! Best job ever, really. I've been doing a lot of graphic design work for them, but alas, I can't post any of it yet, so, sorry, but you can't see any of it yet. Eventually, but not yet.

Meanwhile I've also started working at Cheesecake Factory to help pay the bills. It's not the most ideal job for a young artist, but hey, I'll take whatever I can get to make sure that I can't surviving in SF.

And as I hope most people are aware, LOST IN CONFUSION continues. We had a small hiatus when I started my job at CF because of training and pulling double shifts between there and KSDG, but both seem to be back on track and back to normal.

I'll hopefully be able to post more of my work when I can. In the meanwhile, here are a few comics that have already gone up over at LiC.

KSDG Photo-Shoot Day

So as mentioned in my previous post, I've been working as an intern for a new company KEVIN STEPHENS DESIGN GROUP, which is an urban design group here in San Francisco. The job has been fantastic, with me doing a lot of graphic design work. Its a start up company, which is allowing me a lot of great opportunities.

Well, this last week or so, I've also been working as a photographer for the company, taking photos for the website. While this aspect still isn't up, there some more fun shots currently on the company's blog: KSDG Blog.

Take a look!

New Job & Lost in Confusion hits 20 Comics

Great news my readers,

I’ve recently gotten hired as a Graphic Design Intern for a new Design Company in San Francisco. With that in mind, I’ve moved back out to the West Coast! I’m super excited to have this new job, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it might lead me.

In the meanwhile I'd also like to let everyone know that my webcomic "LOST IN CONFUSION" hit twenty comics! I know this isn't a huge deal, but I'm still rather proud of myself and what I've got so far.

Now with the new job, it's probably going to be requiring a lot of time and work on my part, but at least for the time being, the comic is going to retain the same number of updates per week. If it gets too busy, I might have to scale back to twice a week, but for now that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Enjoy,
A.

Lost in Confusion 2.0 is Go!

Well good new everyone! After weeks of work and development, my web comic LOST IN CONFUSION is up and running. As previously mentioned this is a reboot of my old Webcomic from a few years back and I never got a chance to take as far as I initially wanted due to the pressure of going to Graduate School.

But now that I've finished school, this seems like the best time to start it up again.

The basic premise of the story is a quasi-autobiographical story, about a twenty-something named Luc and his group of friends (and a gun carrying penguin) and their various misadventures of work, school, dating, and commenting on the world itself.

Lost in Confusion Reboot Sneak-Peak

So, as mentioned in a previous post, I've been working on rebooting my old web-comic "Lost in Confusion". I've been playing around with the art-style the character designs and of course whether or not to do color or black and white. The big thing I've been working on is simplifying the style. I want the comic to look more "Toon" than "Comic Book" in style. So that means less realistic anatomy, exaggerated features, and so on. My plan to be able to knock out these comics at least three times a week.

The first strip of the comic is complete, and now I'm doing the next few pages. I'd post the comic up, but I'd like to get a few more ready ahead of time. Also, I'm working on a website to set up as well.

But since I'm super-nice, I'm give you folks a sneak-peak of the comics.

Enjoy,

New Graphic Design Works

So I've got some new Graphic Design pieces for all of you folks to enjoy.

One of these were initially intended to be posted a lot sooner, but as per my jinxed lot in life, technology turned against me. Can you believe that my computers RAM decided it would be fun to crap out right in the middle of things. If you know me, then of course you'll believe that!

Thankfully I managed to not only replace it, but double it, which means my computer is now faster, stronger and whatever else they said in the Six Million Dollar Man commercials...

These are all made up projects that I created for myself.

Lost in Confusion Reboot?

So a few years ago I did my own webcomic called "Lost in Confusion". It was a semi-auto biographical comic, which ran for a couple of years. Unfortunately as a result of the stress and work of grad school, I retired the comic far earlier than I wanted.

Now that I'm out of school, I thought I'd maybe try my hand at rebooting the series. Since so much time has passed, I don't think picking up where the original story would work. I'd rather re-introduce the characters for new fans... also I'm rather embarrassed by my old art work from 4 years ago. :P

I'm still working on overall character designs, but I thought I'd post up some concept sketches I've done for the primary cast. Changes are expected to happen.

Enjoy,
A

P.S.: And because I expect you'd like to laugh at me: He is a couple of those old comics.

The Cry of Coyote (New Alternate Cover) - Final Work

Behold the final work! The new Alternative Cover for my graphic Novel: Cry of Coyote. I'm rather pleased with how this came out, and I'm hoping it will look good when printed up. With any luck I'll be able to do a proper printing of books for sale sometime this year.

Enjoy,
